DJ PRICING;
Rates for the DJ industry vary greatly, ranging from $350.00 to $3,500.00 with a national average of $1,200.00 for a 4-hour booking. These variances are based on talent, experience, emcee ability, service, coordination, equipment needed music knowledge, and personality. The best price is not always the best deal, especially if you are planning a wedding or major milestone event. Surveys conclude that nearly 100% of clients would have spent more money on their entertainment and made it their #1 priority in hindsight.
Cheryl Q Productions will provide the following multiple services at no additional charge:
- Reception/Event Planner (Industry Price $350-$600)
- Reception/Event Coordinator (Industry Price $500-$1500 or 10% -15% of your total budget)
- Master of Ceremonies (Industry Price $250-$1000)
- Disc Jockey (Industry Price $600-$800)
- Professional DJ & Sound Equipment (Industry Price $500-$2500)
- Music (Not available)
The combined total if hired separately could run in excess of $6000 for your event.
While it may appear that you are only paying for “4 hours”, a professional disc jockey company will normally invest 10 to 30 hours to your special event. I normally spend 20-35 hours in preparation for Weddings, Quinceaneras, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, and Themed Events. 15-25 hours is the average dedicated to other types of parties and events. Consultations, music purchasing & editing, preparation, set-up and tear-down, education and other business related endeavors add up to the overall success of your special occasion. I’m willing to spend whatever time it takes to make your event successful.

Disc Jockey Q & A...
- Are you insured? Can you supply me with proof of liability?
Yes, I have liability insurance. Many venues require proof through a Certificate of Liability. I can provide that.
- Will you be willing to play requests and discuss music ahead of time?
It is your event and I work for you. I will listen to your suggestions, give you feedback and play from your desired song list. I will take requests during your event. I will also adhere to songs you don’t want played.
- Do you use Professional Equipment?
Yes. I am continually upgrading my equipment to maintain “state of the art” sound. I currently have Denon & Numark CD players, Numark mixers, and Crest/Crown Amplifiers as well as JBL speakers.
- Do you provide backup equipment at my event?
I do have back-up equipment available in the rare instance it might be needed. Additionally, I have a back-up plan in case of illness or an accident. As a member of the American Disc Jockey Association, I have many resources available to me in case of an emergency including a hotline to call for assistance and professional affiliations with other DJ ‘s who can help out in unexpected situations.
- Do you know the proper etiquette for my type of party?
I have vast experience in all types of events. I will assist you with the planning of your special day to include any and all traditions. Additionally, I will coordinate, emcee and provide the music that you desire. If I don’t have the experience you need, I’ll tell you.
- How much time do you allow for set-up?
Punctuality is a necessity. I like to arrive not later than 1.5 to 2 hours prior to your event and have the equipment tested and ready before your first guest walks through the door.
- Do you provide a written contract?
Yes. Your booking will be confirmed in writing. A signed contract and non-refundable booking fee is required to reserve your date.
- Will you be suitably dressed for our occasion?
I will be suitably attired for your event including formal and themed occasions. Any company staff members will also be suitably attired.
- Do you belong to a professional organization or trade group?
I belong to several professional organizations to include the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA), American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) and the Homestead/Florida City Chamber of Commerce. I am an approved Government Contractor in the Entertainment Field. I attend DJ training conferences and seminars during the year to continually update my knowledge base and performance level.
